My name is Travis Runyan and I’m a part-time knifemaker with the intention of going full time in the near future. I started making custom knives in 2014 with very little knowledge and equipment. I made my anvil from a piece of railroad rail and my forge with a semi brake drum, hair dryer for forced air, and a piece of steel pipe for a stand. I primarily forged railroad spikes to get a feel for working metal.

I took a small break from knifemaking because of tendonitis and started back up in 2016. The startup consisted of mostly stock removal and little forging. I eventually moved into ring making as well as custom scales.

Over the years I put all profits back into the business and bought new equipment: Jenn Kenn Airbath 30 Kiln, Heretic H2 Extreme 3 phase grinder, vacuum chambers, cryo tanks, pressure pots, and many new tools for working wood and metal.

I also started making custom putters from either wood or wood/resin and will soon be milling the heads from Damascus that will be made in house.
